15-point plan sent to Iran
The New York Times reported on Tuesday that Washington sent Iran a 15-point plan to end the war in the Middle East. Israel's Channel 12, quoting three sources, said the US was seeking a month-long ceasefire to discuss the 15-point plan.
A source familiar with the matter confirmed to Reuters that the US had sent a plan to Iran but provided no further details.
The Israeli media outlet said the plan would include the dismantling of Iran's nuclear programme, ceasing support for proxy groups, such as Lebanon's Hezbollah, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Deadly strikes on Lebanon
Lebanese state media reported that Israeli strikes killed at least six people in a town and a Palestinian refugee camp in the southern Sidon area, and three more in another town.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military, which earlier warned of an imminent attack on Beirut's southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold that has been targeted multiple times during the war. Israel plans to control Lebanon bridges
Israel has repeatedly invaded Lebanon in recent decades, and occupied the south until 2000. Since March 13, it has destroyed five bridges over the Litani and demolished homes in border villages, actions it says are part of a campaign against Hezbollah.
Now, Israel will occupy southern Lebanon up to the Litani River, an area Defence Minister Israel Katz described as a "security zone", spelling out for the first time Israel's intent to seize territory amounting to nearly a tenth of the country.

Iranian representatives have reportedly set strict conditions for returning to ceasefire negotiations with the Trump administration, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the discussions.
The reported demands include the closure of all US military bases in the Arabian Gulf, reparations for strikes on Iran, a new arrangement for the Strait of Hormuz allowing Tehran to collect transit fees, guarantees against renewed conflict, an end to Israeli strikes on Hezbollah, full lifting of sanctions, and no restrictions on Iran’s missile programme.
A US official described the proposals as “ridiculous and unrealistic.”
US is negotiating with itself: Iran military spokesperson
The US is negotiating with itself, an Iranian military spokesman said according to state media on Wednesday, a day after US President Donald Trump said Tehran wants to make a deal to end the war in the Middle East.
"Has the level of your inner struggle reached the stage of you negotiating with yourself?" Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperon for the unified command of Iran's armed forces, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, taunted the US leadership.
UAE ramps up retail inspection
The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism has intensified nationwide inspection and consumer protection efforts. Between February 28 and March 18, authorities carried out 8,168 inspection visits across markets to ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations.

India clarifies LPG refill booking timelines
India has clarified that reports circulating about revised LPG refill booking timelines are false and misleading.

Airstrikes in western Anbar kill 2 Iraqi soldiers
We earlier reported about airstrikes in western Anbar; the latest coming from the region is that two Iraqi army soldiers were killed and around 20 people were wounded, most of them military personnel.
Security sources report the airstrikes targeting a site belonging to Iraq’s Shi’ite Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) near an army medical centre in western Anbar have resulted in casualties.
Gold prices bounce back in Dubai
Gold prices rebounded in Dubai on Wednesday morning, recovering some of the losses incurred over the past month.
Khaleej Times' Waheed Abbas report that the 24K gold price jumped nearly Dh20 per gram to Dh550.75, up from around Dh530.0 on Tuesday. Similarly, 22K, 21K, 18K and 14K gold also made strong gains on Wednesday morning, rising to Dh510.00, Dh489.00, Dh419.25 and Dh327.00 per gram, respectively.
Spot gold was trading at $4,567 per ounce, up 3.78 per cent at 9.10am UAE time. Silver price also bounced back, rising 4.6 per cent to $73.29 (Dh269) per ounce.

India denies needing Iran's permission to pass Hormuz
Permission is not needed for ships to sail through the Strait of Hormuz, an Indian government spokesman told the media in Delhi on Wednesday.
Rajesh Kumar Sinha, special secretary at the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, also rejected claims that stranded Indian ships needed clearance from Iran. India has also not paid any fees or protection money for the safe passage of its ships, he noted.
“It is the decision of the charterer and shipping company when to sail or when not to sail. Since these are special circumstances, they assess the situation with regard to safety before deciding," he added.

Israel hits Iran's research center
Israel’s military announced on Wednesday that it struck an underwater research center in Isfahan used by Iran’s navy during an attack on Tuesday.
The military said this facility is Iran’s only site for designing and developing submarines and related support systems, including unmanned vessels. They added that the strike is part of a larger series of attacks on Iran’s military production sites and will reduce Tehran’s ability to build and upgrade naval equipment.
Naval cruise missile production sites hit in Iran: IDF

UAE
Nine people have been killed in Iranian attacks, including three linked to Ministry of Defence, according to the UAE defence ministry.
Qatar
Seven people were killed on March 22 in a deadly helicopter crash in Qatar's territorial waters after a technical malfunction during "routine duty," according to Qatar's defence ministry. No further details were provided.
Four of those killed were Qatari armed forces personnel, one was a Turkish serviceman from the Qatar-Turkey joint forces and two were technicians working for Turkey's defence giant ASELSAN.
Kuwait
Authorities have reported six deaths, including two people killed in Iranian attacks, two interior ministry officers and two army soldiers.
Oman
Two people were reported killed on March 13 in a drone strike on an industrial zone in Sohar province, marking the first fatalities inside the country, which had been hosting mediation talks between the U.S. and Iran. One person died earlier when a projectile hit a tanker off the coast of Muscat, the vessel's manager said.
Saudi Arabia
Two people were killed when a projectile fell on a residential location in Al-Kharj city, southeast of the capital Riyadh.
Bahrain
Two people were killed in two separate Iranian attacks, with the most recent hitting a residential building in the capital Manama, according to the interior ministry.

Pakistan delivered US proposal to Iran
Pakistan has delivered a US proposal to Iran, a senior Iranian source told Reuters on Wednesday, but the venue of any talks between Tehran and Washington to end the war has yet to be decided.
The source, who asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter, did not disclose details of the proposal and whether it was the 15-point US framework proposal to end the war reported by news outlets.

Lebanese Army says Iranian missile exploded mid-air
The Lebanese Army said missile debris that fell across multiple areas in the country on Tuesday has been identified as belonging to an Iranian-made ballistic missile, according to posts on X.
The army stated the missile was likely not targeting Lebanon and appeared to have exploded mid-air, possibly due to a malfunction or interception. It also confirmed that Lebanon does not possess any missile interceptor systems.
The incident underscores the risk of spillover from regional missile activity, with debris and malfunctions potentially affecting areas outside intended targets.
"Egregious and terrorist Iranian attacks"
The UAE has faced 26 days of what it described as “egregious and terrorist Iranian attacks” involving more than 2,000 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

German foreign minister hopes Iran peace talks given chance to work
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on Wednesday welcomed US President Donald Trump's pursuit of negotiations to end the war with Iran and said he hoped the talks would be given a chance to succeed.
"It is commendable that the US President has postponed his ultimatum to the Iranian regime for a few days and is now seeking negotiations," Wadephul said alongside his Tunisian counterpart Mohamed Ali Nafti in Berlin.
"Iran's regime would be well-advised to respond to this now. So, if there is a window of opportunity for diplomacy, we should definitely give talks a chance."
Iran considers proposal excessive: State TV

Kuwait detects 20 ballistic missiles, 9 drones in 24 hours
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence announced today that air defence systems detected 20 ballistic missiles and nine hostile drones within the country’s airspace during the past 24 hours.
Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence, said in a media briefing carried by Kuwait News Agency that 13 missiles were intercepted and destroyed, while seven fell outside the threat zone without posing any danger.
He added that six hostile drones were destroyed, while two targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, causing a fire that is being handled by specialised teams without any human injuries reported. One drone also fell outside the threat zone.

Trump to visit China on May 14-15

Terrorist plot foiled in Kuwait
Kuwait's Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that they have thwarted a terrorist plot and arrested members of a network that planned to carry out assassinations targeting state symbols and leaders and harm the country's higher interests.
The Kuwait News Agency quoted the spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Nasser Bouslaib, during a media briefing on Wednesday, as saying that the State Security Service, after precise security monitoring and follow-up operations, was able to thwart a terrorist plot and arrest a network consisting of five citizens and one non-Kuwaiti person whose citizenship was revoked.
Additionally, they tracked and identified 14 fugitive defendants outside the country, 5 citizens, and 5 non-Kuwaiti individuals whose citizenships were revoked, 2 individuals of Iranian nationality, and 2 individuals of Lebanese nationality.
Bouslaib explained that "it was proven that the accused were linked to the banned terrorist organization Hezbollah, as the network was planning to carry out assassinations targeting state symbols and leaders and recruiting people to carry out these tasks."
Iran reviewing US proposal, no talks with Washington: Araghchi
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, said on Wednesday that the US proposal to end the war was being reviewed by top authorities in Tehran, but the exchange of messages through mediators "does not mean negotiations with the U.S.".
He told Iran's state TV in an interview that Tehran has no intention to hold talks with the US.
