Abu Dhabi arrests 45 for sharing videos of various locations on social media

The Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) arrested 45 suspects of different nationalities for filming different locations during ongoing events and publishing them on social media platforms.This was in addition to circulating inaccurate and misleading information, which could incite public opinion and spread rumours among community members.ADP took the necessary legal and administrative measures against them, emphasising that such behaviours violate laws and stressing the importance of accuracy and refraining from publishing or re-circulating any unreliable content or content not issued by official authorities, due to its negative impact on community security and the progress of security procedures.ADP called on the public to obtain information only from official and accredited sources, and to commit to not filming or publishing event locations or related clips, in order to preserve the integrity of the procedures followed and protect public interest.The competent authorities are closely monitoring what is being circulated on social media platforms and will take the necessary legal measures against anyone who violates laws or spreads rumours or misleading information, the ADP stated. They stressed that the responsibility for maintaining security and stability is a shared one that requires awareness and cooperation from all community members.
