VIDEO: Dense fog blankets parts of UAE, motorists advised to exercise caution in the streets

Dense fog blanketed the UAE on Tuesday morning, significantly reducing visibility across the country and slowing down traffic in Sharjah.According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), dense fog has formed over many coastal and internal areas, leading to poor horizontal visibility and disruptions on major roads. Motorists in Sharjah reported slower traffic as drivers adjusted to the hazardous conditions. In its latest weather update, the NCM warned that visibility may remain low at times through the early morning hours, especially in coastal and island areas.Authorities are urging drivers to take extra precautions, reduce speed, and follow all road safety guidelines while commuting in the fog.The NCM also noted that overall weather across the UAE is expected to be clear to partly cloudy later in the day, with rising temperatures. However, humidity at night and early Wednesday morning may lead to further fog or light fog formation, particularly over western coastal areas.According to the NCM, winds will be light to moderate, southeasterly-northeasterly, with speeds of 10 to 20, amounting to 30 km/h and the waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman will be light. The maximum temperature in Abu Dhabi will be 31°C, while the minimum will be 17°C, the NCM reported, adding that in Dubai, the maximum temperature is expected to be 31°C and the minimum 19°C, while in Sharjah, the maximum is expected to be 30°C and the minimum 18°C. In Ajman, the NCM stated that the maximum temperature is expected to be 26°C and the minimum 19°C.In Umm Al Quwain, the maximum is expected to be 29°C and the minimum 14°C, while in Ras Al Khaimah, the maximum will be 30°C and the minimum 12°C, and in Fujairah, the maximum 28°C and the minimum 21°C, while in Al Ain, the maximum will be 32°C and the minimum 18°C.
