The QWD System: Off-Road & Performance
The Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) system isn’t just for straight-line speed; it’s designed for versatility.
-
Drive Modes: Includes six terrain modes and a dedicated Off-Road Assist.
-
Boost Mode: Allows for instant torque delivery for quick overtakes or steep climbs.
-
Architecture: Built on the acti.ev+ platform, which allows for a completely flat floor and better weight distribution.
Feature Comparison: What You Get (and Don’t)
The Fearless+ trim is positioned as the “Value-Pro” choice.
| Included Features | Omitted (vs. Top Spec) |
| Ventilated Front Seats | Advanced ADAS (Level 2+) |
| JBL 10-Speaker Audio System | Auto Park Assist |
| 360-Degree Surround Camera | Ultra-Large Infotainment Screen |

Battery & Charging: The 75kWh Advantage
The 75kWh battery remains the heart of this variant. With a 622 km range, it effectively addresses “range anxiety” for inter-city travel. On a 150kW DC fast charger, the Harrier.ev can reportedly recoup 100 km of range in under 15 minutes, making it one of the fastest-charging EVs in the sub-₹30 lakh segment.
Reality Check
The launch of a ₹26.49 lakh AWD variant is a direct response to the Mahindra XEV 9e and the Hyundai Creta EV (AWD versions), both of which are expected to gain market share this quarter. While the Harrier.ev is “quicker” on paper, the real-world range for a dual-motor SUV in Indian conditions (AC at full blast, heavy traffic) is likely closer to 420–450 km.
The Loopholes
Tata claims “unlimited lifetime battery warranty.” In fact, this is a “First-Owner Loophole”—the warranty typically applies only to the original individual buyer and is not transferable to the second owner, which could affect the car’s resale value. Still, the “Performance Loophole” remains; by giving the Fearless+ the same 313bhp as the top trim, Tata has made the “expensive” variant much harder to justify for everyone except those who absolutely need ADAS.

What This Means for You
If you are currently in the market for a premium SUV, re-evaluate your “AWD” needs.
-
The “City” Driver: If you rarely leave the pavement, the single-motor RWD variant (starting around ₹21 lakh) is still the better value.
-
The “Tourer”: If you frequently drive to the hills or through monsoon-flooded roads, the ₹26.49 lakh Fearless+ QWD is currently the most horsepower-per-rupee you can buy in India.
-
Colour Choice: Check out the new Seaweed Green in person; it’s a matte-finish-inspired shade that hides dust significantly better than the standard white or black options.
What’s Next
Expect deliveries for the Fearless+ QWD to begin by the first week of April 2026. Then, look for Mahindra’s counter-pricing for the XEV 9e mid-spec variants by mid-April. Finally, keep an eye out for software updates for the 360-camera system, which some early users have reported as “glitchy” in low-light conditions.
